The Rotary ONE SUMMIT was held this Saturday, November 9, 2024

with 49 Rotarians in attendance from 18 Rotary Clubs attending.

I want to express my gratitude to the following:

  • Avon Central School for providing us the venue.

  • 49 Rotarians representing 18 Rotary Cubs and who made the session so informative and full of energy.

  • Our Facilitators: PDG Scott MacDonell, PDG Ralph Brandt, PDG Janet Tenreiro, and Assistant Governor Kirk Vanderbilt.  Great conversations and discussions took place at each of the breakout sessions because of their skill and ability to draw ideas from the attendees.

  • One Summit committee composed of PDG Dave Hannan, District Rotary Foundation Chair, PDG Linda Kohl, District Public Image Chair, John French and Vicki James, Co-Chairs of the District Membership Committee, District Governor Dave DeMers and Norma Madayag-Reilly, District Education Chair.

PDG Norma and others received some testimonials from the attendees:  “It was a great  learning event” There was high energy”; I am glad I came, learned a lot”; “great information”; “It was fun”.  Thank you for these kind words.

Here’s a glimpse of what happened at the One Summit:

  1. Two topics were covered at the One Summit:

  • Rotary’s Action Plan and its four priorities-What is it? Why it matters to us and our Clubs?

  • Synergy among Membership, Rotary Foundation and Public Image. Creating synergy and leveraging on this synergy to help make clubs more attractive, irresistible and mor impactful

  1. Exchange and Sharing of ideas and thoughts

  2. Fellowship

Look for a comprehensive report on the ideas generated on Rotary’s Action Plan and its four priorities and the Synergy in the next month’s issue of the Grapevine.

Yours in Rotary Service,

PDG Norma
