Global Grants Committee

The purpose of the Global Grants Committee is to establish a comprehensive set of guidelines meant to educate, facilitate and foster a more effective and efficient use of Rotary Foundation matching funds for District 7120. The committee's primary goal is to ensure that Global Grant opportunities are clearly identified District wide and that we assist and guide Clubs in ensuring an orderly process to the application procedures. The committee will also assist in identifying potential partner Clubs within the District and beyond.

  • The Committtee will be District 7120's primary resource when it comes to providing information about Global Grants.
  • With the assistance of FADs and AGs, the committee encourages all Clubs to contact the Committee as early or as soon as possible when they become interested in a Global Grant, definitely before the application process starts.
  • A proposed project's total cost must be $30,000 minimum.
  • The Committee requests that Clubs interested in doing a Global Grant submit a summary of the project to include proposed budget, contact names of lead organizers for both local club and in-country partners.  To download a proposal form and other materials relevant to writing a grant, return to the Foundation homepage and scroll to the documents.
  • Provision of in-country partner contact information is critical as it helps the Committee properly and thoroughly vet potential in-country partners. Utilizing our contacts with TRF's area coordinators, the committee will check potential in-country partner's previous track record as a District and as a local Club. The vetting process is necessary to help ensure the future success of the grant.
  • The committee, working with local and host country clubs will establish protocol for proper and timely reporting requirements consistent with TRF reporting requirements and guidelines.
  • The committee will assist local Clubs in better utilizing allocation of sponsor Club funds as it relates to that Club's Annual Giving funds and its impact on DDF.
  • After thorough review of a potential project, the Committee will be responsible for making its recommendation to the District Rotary Foundation Chair and District Governor for approval or denial. Provided the project is approved, only then, would a potential application process begin online.
  • Only after assignment of a grant number and then after final approval by TRF should monies be sent to TRF for the grant, using the grant number on the memo line of a check.
