Jim Crane
 
Jim is a long time member of the Victor Farmington Rotary Club. Additionally, at first, he was introduced to Rotary by his father joining the Canandaigua Club in 1975. After a career change, he joined Victor Farmington in 1985, and remained a member until 1990 after he started a small business in Farmington. He rejoined in 1999, when the Victor Farmington Club made a major change to the club meeting time.
 
Since joining the Victor Farmington club, he has served has an active board member and officer, plus serving on various committees, from program to Governor Elects hospitably. He has served as club president when needed in 2002-2003, 2012-2013, 2016-2017, 2019-2020, and 2020-2021. He has also been involved with the Youth Exchange Program, hosting an inbound student.  Currently he is enjoying his time as Assistant Governor for Area 6.
 
After graduating from Alfred State College, he started his career as Engineering Aide/Inspector for the City of Canandaigua. In 1975 he accepted the position as the city Water & Wastewater Supervisor for Canandaigua. During this time, he attended college in Buffalo for environment licensing and management skills.  In 1984 a career change came when he accepted the management position of Water & Wastewater Utilities for the towns of Canandaigua, Farmington and Town of Victor and later, the Town of Hopewell and Manchester.
 
In 1983 Jim started a small (part-time) business which circled around his hobby of archery and bow-hunting. The business started out small selling sporting goods for bowhunting and the shooting sports. In 1989 he constructed an 11,000 square foot facility to offer a full indoor archery experience, which Jim now operates full-time.
 
Jim resides in Farmington and has one daughter working in a school district and three sons, two of whom have served in the U.S. Marine Corps. All are working and living nearby.  The family make-up is the four children, with 10 grandchildren, two of which are in the U.S. Army.
 
Jim’s partner is Nancy Loughlin, who is a Rotarian from the Watkins Montour Rotary Club. She is greatly involved with the Youth Exchange Program. She has served in numerous positions such as Chair, Country Officer, etc. She has served as president of her Rotary club. She is a great person, and has taught Jim things about the Youth Exchange program. They enjoy traveling and the outdoors.
 
Nancy and Jim look forward to this new mission and adventure for District 7120.
