Conflict Recognition and Management
Conflict is an inevitable part of organizational life—but unmanaged conflict can damage relationships, undermine teamwork, and even destroy a Rotary club. In this engaging 20-minute program, participants will explore how to recognize conflict early, understand its causes, and manage differences before they escalate.
The program examines three types of conflict: intrapersonal, interpersonal, and intergroup, and explores how moderate conflict, when properly managed, can actually be healthy and contribute to better ideas and stronger decisions by blending seemingly opposing proposals to create collaborative solutions and shared benefits.
Key Takeaways: Attendees will discover 1) How recognizing conflict early can prevent escalation through “self-assessing” before acting, and 2) Learn why appropriately managed differences can become “good conflict”—strengthening rather than dividing a Rotary club.
