Happy November!
This month is focused on the Rotary Foundation. We just celebrated Clubs and individuals for their continued support at the District Foundation Brunch on November 5th. PDG David Hannan and his committee did a wonderful job and please read more about the Foundation in his article in this Grapevine.
As I go around the District and meet with Rotarians, I am asked about where members can get involved. Our District, as well as Rotary International, offer a wide range of opportunities for members beyond the typical club meetings and service projects. Many members may not be aware of these opportunities, but they can enhance your Rotary experience in various ways. Here are some of the lesser-known opportunities within Rotary:
• Rotary Fellowships: Rotary Fellowships are international groups of Rotarians who share a common interest or hobby, such as wine appreciation, photography, or scuba diving. These fellowships provide a unique way to connect with like-minded Rotarians from around the world.
• Rotary Peace Fellowships: Rotary offers fully-funded fellowships for individuals who want to pursue a master's degree in peace and conflict resolution. These programs are highly competitive and are designed for future leaders in the field of peacebuilding.
• Rotaract: Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young adults, while Many Rotarians are not aware that they can become involved in Rotaract as mentors and advisors.
• Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI): RLI provides in-depth training in Rotary leadership and is available to Rotarians who want to develop their leadership skills and knowledge about Rotary.
• Rotary Foundation Grants: Rotary clubs can apply for grants from the Rotary Foundation to support international projects and local initiatives. These grants can significantly amplify theimpact of your club's service efforts.

• Vocational Service: Rotary encourages members to use their professional skills and expertise to make a difference in their communities. This can involve mentoring, skills-based volunteering, and other ways to contribute to the community.

• Rotary Conventions: Rotary International hosts an annual convention that brings together Rotarians from around the world. It's an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow Rotarians, attend informative sessions, and be inspired by global

• Rotary Action Groups: These are independent groups of Rotarians, family members, program participants, and alumni who are experts in a particular field or passionate about a specific cause. Rotary Action Groups focus on various areas, such as water and sanitation, malaria, literacy, and more.
• Rotary Friendship Exchanges: Rotarians can participate in exchanges that allow them to visit other clubs and experience Rotary in different cultures, fostering international understanding and friendship.
• Rotary E-Clubs: These are online Rotary clubs that allow members to participate and engage in Rotary activities without the need to attend physical meetings.

• Service Projects Abroad: Rotary organizes international service trips and projects, such as providing clean water, healthcare, and education in underserved communities. These projects offer an opportunity for members to make a global impact.

• New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE): New Generations Service Exchange is a short-term, customizable program for university students and professionals up to age 30.

• Rotary Youth Exchange: This program allows Rotary clubs to sponsor high school students to study abroad for a year on a long-term exchange or for 8 weeks on a short-term ex- change. It's a fantastic opportunity for young people to experience a new culture and build lifelong friendships.
