DISCOVER YOUR CLUB’S WHY
What do you want your Rotary club to be known for?
Every Rotary club has a story. It has traditions, projects, friendships, accomplishments and people who have invested their time and talents in making a difference. But can every member clearly explain what makes your club unique—and why your community needs it?
That is the starting point for a Rotary Action Planning Workshop.
Rather than beginning with a list of activities or asking, “What should we do next year?” an Action Planning Workshop invites members to step back and ask a more fundamental question:
Why does our Rotary club matter?
Facilitated by the District Action Planning Committee, the workshop gives members an opportunity to explore what they value most about their club, what the community recognizes about them, what they do particularly well and where they believe Rotary could make an even greater difference.
Your members may discover that your club has a natural strength in youth, literacy, international service, leadership development, community development, fellowship—or something entirely different.
The workshop also encourages members to look ahead.
If our club were even more successful three years from now, what would be different? What would our community say about us? What would our members say about their Rotary experience?
The goal isn't another document that gets placed in a drawer. It is shared understanding and enthusiasm around where your club wants to go.
Every club deserves the opportunity to pause, reflect and rediscover its purpose.

COULD YOUR CLUB BENEFIT?
- Members have different ideas about the club's future.
- Your club has many activities but lacks a common direction.
- New members aren't always sure what makes your club special.
- You want to build enthusiasm around a shared future.
